Purpose of this Form
The Financial Aid Settings form displays - and for some fields allows updates to - institutional and campus-related settings.
Use Case Example
A Financial Aid administrator will need to review and confirm the Institution and Campus level data. Also, they will confirm that the correct student status and default awarding status is being used for their students during ISIR Imports.
Configuration Considerations
Access to this page and its data and functionalities are configured in multiple areas. The Institutions are configured under the Main Menu – Settings - Organization – Roles – Access Rules – Configuration Menu – Financial Aid - Settings.
The Campus Settings are configured under Settings – Institution - Campuses. Awarding Statuses are configured under Main Menu - Settings - Organization - Financial Aid - Award Statuses.
Understanding the Form
The form displays and allows some updating to key pieces of data for each of an institution’s campuses.
In the grid is a list of your institutions. Two fields in the grid allow input:
- Set one or more values in the “Fund Source Status For Posting To Student Accounts” field. When a student’s award has one of the statuses you list in this field, then you can proceed with posting the award to the student’s account when you see fit. If you leave this field blank, though, no specific award status is required for you to be able to post an award.
- Mark the “Create ISIR Lead” box to create a lead during the ISIR import process when the ISIR does not link to an existing individual in Student First. View and manage leads on the Leads form (Main Menu – Admissions – Leads).
Below the grid is the “Default Awarding Status for Academic Years” field. Your entry determines the initial status of a financial aid award when you first award it to a student.
The “New Student Status When Added From ISIR” will ultimately set a student status when a student moves from ISIR to Lead to Applicant, but this feature is not yet functional in Student First.
